Raseborg and Häme Castles
Welcome to hear and discuss about the newest developments in research around castles and to meet international castle researchers! Castella Maris Baltici is an international seminar for castle researchers that organises every other year around the Baltic Sea.

The main theme for Castella Maris Baltici X is castle research in the future. Special themes include
Main attractions in 2009 are Raseborg and Häme castles. During the seminar participants will visit Olavinlinna castle and also become acquainted with the castles and manors in Varsinais-Suomi, Häme and western Uusimaa. More information will be available on this website.
The price of the seminarium is c. 400 euros including accommodation and meals (to be confirmed).
The seminar is organised by The University of Turku together with Tammisaari Museum and the Society of Medieval Archaeology in Finland.
Other organisers are The University of Helsinki, the Guild of Häme old castle, the Guild of Raseborg and the National Board of Antiquities.

| 09.30 – 14.00 | Presentation of papers, (mainly by local researchers and new participants) |
| 14.30 – 22.00 | A coach tour in Raseborg and Tammisaari area (incl. manorhouses, churches) |

| 14.30 | Departure to Olavinlinna (Savolax). The participants leave Raseborg and travel to the town of Savonlinna and Olavinlinna Castle in Savolax. The coach ride will take participants to attractions on the way incl. manorhouses, hillforts, lakes etc. |
